If you are experiencing issues with your MagicCarpet sync, it is recommended to check the status of your Biller Genie integration for any errors. You can check your integration status by doing the following:
Step 1
Go to Add-ons > QuickBooks Desktop
Step 2
Check if you have any error messages under Latest Sync Results.
If there are sync errors displayed, continue to the next sections to resolve the issue.
Resolving Common MagicCarpet Sync Errors
Option 1
Restart QuickBooks Desktop and MagicCarpet. To stop or start MagicCarpet, you can use your Task Manager. Here's how;
- Right-click on your taskbar ( grey bar at the bottom of your screen) and select ‘Task Manager’.
- Look for the line item labeled "MagicCarpet is a desktop application," right-click on it, and select 'End task.'
- To restart it, search for MagicCarpet in your Windows search bar and open it.
- Also, ensure that QuickBooks is open and logged into your company file after you've closed and restarted this application. Then attempt a manual sync in Biller Genie by clicking the green ‘Sync’ button.
Option 2
- Navigate to and open your System Tray near the bottom right of the taskbar.
- Right-click the Biller Genie (BG) logo in your System Tray.
- Select the 'Quit' option when prompted, closing the MagicCarpet application
- To restart it, search for “MagicCarpet” in your Windows search bar and open it.
- Also, ensure that QuickBooks is open and logged into your company file after you've closed and restarted this application. Then attempt a manual sync in Biller Genie by clicking the green 'Sync' button.
Anti-Virus Errors or Exceptions:
Any third-party security, cloud, anti-virus, or encryption applications can prevent MagicCarpet and SideCarpet.
They can cause:
- The unique code to not appear in the connector
- The download to fail
This will cause exceptions that stop MagicCarpet from generating the certificate in QuickBooks.
Allow-list the following:
If the computer has Webroot installed, you will also need to allow-list: "nsis_tauri_utils.dll"
