PayPal Features
Multiple Payment Options for Customer
Use funds in their PayPal balance
Pay Later (purchase is broken into payments)
Venmo
Convenient Checkout
Once a payment method is linked to a customer's PayPal account, they can pay an invoice quickly without having to enter a card/account number again.
Limitations of the Biller Genie Integration: PayPal is NOT available inside the Customer Portal or Merchant portal, it is available when viewing an invoice link or statement link.
Fees
Processing fees are charged by PayPal directly and we recommend referencing their website or your account info for details.
Premium fees from Biller Genie do apply to PayPal volumes.
If you use Technology Fees to charge your customers who use credit or debit cards, those fees will NOT apply if PayPal is used.
Auto Batch Reconciliation Compatibility
If you use Biller Genie's ABR feature, you'll want to know how PayPal transactions are handled differently.
If ABR and PayPal are both enabled, you will have an additional sweep account added to your chart of accounts labeled “APM” (Alternative Payment Methods). All PayPal transactions will be moved from Accounts Receivable to the APM Sweep Account.
The difference with PayPal is that Biller Genie will not create bank deposit entries. The funds will remain in APM Sweep until they are manually moved. You will need to create the bank deposit entry in conjunction with transferring funds from your PayPal account to your bank account.
