Rejected Transactions
Table of Contents
The Rejected Transactions report contains ACH (Automated Clearing House) transactions that were not successfully processed. These rejections can occur for a variety of reasons, and the report provides detailed information about each rejected transaction. In this article, we'll help you to:
- Understand which transactions failed
- Use the rejection codes to resolve issues with your customer
- Navigate to the unpaid invoices to reattempt payment
Step 1: Open the Report
In the Biller Genie portal, navigate to Reports > Rejected Transactions
Step 2: Review the Report
Review the rejected transactions to determine next steps.
Any invoices associated with these failed payments will still have an open status (we don't mark them as paid until the ACH clears) and Biller Genie will continue to send out any payment Reminders that you may have setup.
Step 3: Resolve the Issue
In most cases, the customer will need to be contacted to resolve the issue. They may need to:
- Add funds to their account
- Contact their bank and grant authorization for the debit
- Provide an alternate account
- Correct a typo in the routing or account number
Review our article on ACH and Credit Card Rejection Codes for more information on reject reasons.
Step 4: Reattempt the Payment
Once corrective action has been taken, the payment should be reattempted.
- Customer can open the original invoice and make payment
- You can open the invoice and reattempt the payment method or use another payment method
